Central to the purpose of KALE is to connect leaders to each other so that no leader is isolated and we can harness the shared expertise
To support resilience, motivation and retention we encourage leaders to grow their professional networks and relationships so that they always have colleagues with whom they can explore ideas, share challenges, or call upon in a crisis.
We do this by promoting local networks, convening Area Boards and facilitating other collaborative activities, including Peer Reviews, Practice-Sharing and ‘Education Conversations’ to tackle key school improvement priorities.
We are also developing more systematic ways of sharing information across the community about effective practice to make it easier for leaders to make connections that will support them.
2026/27 Priority: Peer-to-Peer Learning
As school leaders we know that often the best professional development comes from learning with and from other education professionals.
We know that the expertise we need to lead improvement in our schools exists in schools, with people who have tackled similar challenges and learnt lessons along the way.
In this academic year our focus is on working with local partners to establish truly sustainable ways for schools to support each other, to share learning and expertise and work collaboratively to support continuous improvement.
