Acting as the voice of Kent education leaders

Core to the purpose of KALE is to act as the voice of Kent education leaders – to amplify, advocate and represent.

KALE is unique in representing leaders of all schools, colleges, PRUs, alternative curriculum and SRPs in Kent.

As a community we have the capability to amplify, advocate for and represent the sector.

We aim to ensure that our community’s questions, ideas, challenges, great practice and experiences are heard by those responsible for making local, regional and national policy.

KALE creates opportunities for leaders from across the local system together to come together to discuss ideas and challenges and highlight key messages and questions that need to be shared more widely.

We liaise regularly with representatives of local and national government to share these views and advocate for action and take part in formal consultations.

Representatives from KALE participate on behalf of the sector in a range of groups with responsibility for leadership of key educational activity.

2026/27 Priority: Extend KALE’s capacity to advocate with impact

This year we plan to:

  • introduce a range of new ways to capture the views of Kent education leaders,
  • make sure that these views, insights and experience are heard, and acted on, by local, regional and national policy makers, and
  • share the best practice of Kent leaders widely.
