The Kent Education Evidence Hub (KEEHub) has been developed over the past 2 years by a Steering Group of Headteachers and leaders, working in partnership with the KCC and EEF team leading the Effective Kent Project (EKP) to develop the Hub concept and bring it to reality. With the launch of the Hub in July 2023, the current working group aims to expand its membership and engage leaders in shaping its development. . The ambition of the Hub is to encourage collaboration between schools wishing to engage with evidence to inform teaching, leadership and school improvement. To find out more about the Hub and get involved please visit KEEHub.
The working group is chaired by Iain Witts, Headteacher of Kingsnorth Primary CE School and Strategic Lead for the Kingsnorth English Hub. Iain works closely with the DfE, KCC, the EEF, Canterbury Diocese and the Teaching School Hubs in these roles. Iain is an experienced leader and coach committed to developing school systems, teams and leaders.
During the last academic year the group worked closely with colleagues from KCC and EEF to secure a plan for sustaining some of the work begun by the Effective Kent Project (EKP), which concluded in July 2023. This project, a collaboration between KCC and EEF, provided opportunities for school leaders and teachers to consider how they use evidence to inform school improvement. The project offered a range of training and established approaches to embed and sustain an evidence informed culture in schools.
The focus of the Working Group has been on refining the vision for a sector-led approach that will enable teachers and leaders to continue to work together to implement evidence-based practice. The Kent Education Evidence Hub and its new website, launched in July 2023, is the first stage outcome of that work.
2023/24 year will be a crucial time for developing the concept of the KEE Hub into a practical offer of support that teachers and leaders can engage in. Specifically, we will:
